Greg Croft Rookie of the Year Award

Purpose of Award:  Recognition of the Outstanding Rookie Firefighter/EMS Provider.

Award Sponsor:  Croft Family and Joseph K. Larsen, Sr., Past President

Award Administered by:  This award is to be administered by the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association (AACVFA) Board of Trustees. A plaque will be presented to the winner at the AACVFA Convention.

Background:  The Greg Croft Rookie of the Year Award was proposed by Past President Joseph K. Larsen, Sr. and accepted by the AACVFA Board of Directors in 2013. The award was established to honor firefighter Greg Croft of the Maryland City Volunteer Fire Department.

Award Rules:
1.  Nominee must be from a member company or department of the AACVFA.
2.  Any active member of a member company or department of the AACVFA may submit the name of a nominee for this award.
3.  Nominee must be an active member of the sponsoring company or department, and at least 17 years of age at the time of the award presentation.
4.  Junior/Cadet members of a member company or department are NOT eligible for this award. Time spent as a Junior/Cadet member does not count towards the 24-months of service.
5.  A nominee that transfers from one company or department to another is not eligible for the award their total time of membership is less than 24-months combined.
6.  Nominee must have 6-months, but less than 24-months of active membership application due date.
7.  Nominations in the form of a resume must be submitted on an individual basis only and on official company or department letterhead or stationary.
8.  Nominations must be submitted to, and received by the AACVFA Trustees no later than July 1 of each year. Late entries will NOT be considered.
9.  The AACVFA Trustees will judge all nominations.
10. The award shall be presented to the recipient annually, at the AACVFA convention, starting in 2014, and shall be inscribed with the recipient’s name and their company.
