It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Edward Homberg Jr., a beloved father, brother, and friend. Frank passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21st, 2024, at the age of 85, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born on Friday, March 17th, 1939, Frank's journey through life was marked by dedication, service, and love for those around him.
Frank was a proud veteran, having served his country honorably as a member of the United States Coast Guard. His commitment to service continued in his civilian life, where he devoted 26 years to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, eventually becoming a respected Division Chief before retiring in 1992. Working predominantly at headquarters in Millersville after starting in Brooklyn Park, his leadership and dedication left a lasting legacy on his colleagues and community.
A long-time resident of Pasadena, Frank was deeply involved in his community as a member of the American Legion #276, Howard Turner Post in Severn, MD, and the Boumi Temple Shrine, Baltimore Lodge. His contributions to these organizations reflected his enduring commitment to camaraderie and community service.
Frank's life was enriched by simple pleasures and joyful moments spent with family. He enjoyed bowling with his son, William "Bill" Homberg, and cherished taking cruises with his beloved wife, Betty Lou Homberg, who predeceased him. Frank was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Readmond, and his parents, Frank E. Homberg Sr. and Thelma Homberg.
Frank leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication, remembered by his son, William "Bill" Homberg (Tristan) of Pasadena, MD, and his brothers, Ronald Homberg (Judith) and Charles "Butch" Homberg, who will continue to celebrate his life and the many joyous moments he shared with them.
