Kimberly A. (Kim) Larsen of the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company (LSVFC) was inducted in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association (AACVFA) Hall of Fame on September 8, 2023.
Kim started in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Fire Service in 2002, joining the Maryland City Volunteer Fire Department. During her time with Maryland City, she served as Ways and Means and Fire and Life Safety Chair. She also served as the Company President for 5-years. During her time as President, Kim was instrumental in many efforts including fundraising and the purchase of new furniture for the bunk rooms for both volunteer and career staff. Kim coordinated monthly basket and bag bingos as well as other fundraising events.
Kim joined the LSVFC in 2016 and continued her expertise in fundraising by running bingos and other fundraising events at Lake Shore. Kim currently serves as the Ways and Means chair at LSVFC. She serves as a delegate to both the AACVFA and the Maryland State Fireman's Association.
In 2020, Kim received the LSVFC Auxiliary Member of the Year Award and in 2022 received the President's Award for her service at Lake Shore.
Kim has served as the Assistant/Financial Secretary for the AACVFA since 2008. Her duties include accounting for receipt of funds and organizing and scheduling regular Association monthly meetings. She also used her knowledge of fundraising to organize events to benefit the association. She has chaired three Association Convention committees, two when the association hosted the convention and when Lake Shore hosted the convention in 2020. She is currently the Board of Directors liaison for the 2023 Association Convention.
Kim's over 20 years of consistent and dedicated service supporting the Volunteer Fire Service in Anne Arundel County makes her a most deserving candidate for the AACVFA Hall of Fame Award.
