The One Hundred Club of Anne Arundel County will be awarding a scholarship to a member of one of
the County’s public safety agencies in honor of Officer Duke G. Aaron. Officer Aaron was an Officer
with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police who was killed in the line of duty on July 25,
It is the hope of the 100 Club of Anne Arundel County that by helping a deserving member of the
public safety team obtain advanced education and training, that they will be assisting to keep the
recipient and those they work with a little safer. The scholarship is for up to $5,000 and will be
awarded at the club’s annual awards ceremony on April 30th.

Fire Department personnel interested in applying for the scholarship should send an application letter
to the One Hundred Club of Anne Arundel County by March 1, 2018. The letter of application should
detail how the applicant meets each of the following judging criteria.
 The nominee will be enrolled in a degree program, continuing education program,
or skills training courses.
 The nominee must have exemplary conduct in the performance of day-to-day
 The nominee shall have excellent attendance.
 The nominee shall be viewed as an exemplary leader within the organization.
Additionally, factors including professionalism, initiative, goal achievement, teamwork and
community service will be considered by the selection committee.

The mission of the One Hundred Club of Anne Arundel County is to provide supplemental
benefits to the families of firefighters, law enforcement & detention officers, and emergency
medical service personnel, both paid and volunteer, who lose their lives in the line of duty to Anne
Arundel County.
